In organizations, computer networks are rapidly growing and the problem of installing or uninstalling software on them is a true nightmare for a system administrator. When it comes to installing (or removing) new application to multiple network computers, system administrators’ heartbeat rate jumps up. Really, this operation is often times a logistical nightmare. Walking over to each computer is impractical and often impossible, so the administrators either install applications to all network computers, even if some users don’t need them, create new group policies or even go as far as creating their own custom programs or scripts. With the release of NetStaller™ , all of this is becoming unnecessary.

NetStaller™ uses Windows Installer MSI packages technology, which is included with all Windows 2000 and XP operating systems and 90% of Windows 9x PCs. All a system administrator has to do is to install NetStaller™ on his own computer (server) and indicate which computers have to be included in installation or removal list (or select All Computers checkbox). The program can install any application (supplied in MSI package) remotely. There is no need to walk over to each workstation, create new groups, modify group policies or pre-install any “helper software”, like installation agents. Network users will not be aware of the process, which will be running in background. In fact, even if a user lacks the installation privileges, NetStaller™ will overrule it and install the program anyway by using administrator rights. The program removes PC applications in a similar manner.

NetStaller™ has the following advantages over other similar (including built-in) tools:

Selective installation.
With the help of NetStaller™, a package can be installed on computers selected by the administrator instead of all computers on the network. Thus, you can test a new program on a limited number of computers before installing it on the entire network. The installation process is absolutely invisible to users while they are occupied with fulfilling different tasks.

Uninstalling software.
NetStaller™ makes it possible not only to install, but also to uninstall software remotely! You just have to select an .msi package (a program) – and NetStaller™ will check if it is installed on a remote computer, and if it is, uninstall it without informing the user. Again, you can do it on selected computers if you do not want to involve the entire net.
